Shri Krishna Janmasthan
History of Shri Krishna Janmasthan
Considered the very epicenter of the Braj region, this site marks the exact prison cell where Lord Krishna manifested five millennia ago. The site has a turbulent history, having been built and demolished multiple times under different empires. The current magnificent structure, including the Keshavdeva Temple and the Janmabhoomi complex, was spearheaded by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and completed in the mid-20th century.
